How to use the Youtube Keyword tool for research

 
     Well like anything on the Internet it all starts with the actual keyword(s) and names that you decide to use in your marketing so I am going to share some youtube tips for using the youtube keyword tool and building a youtube marketing strategy to get you targeted traffic that will be craving to see your latest video uploads.  lets get started with the Youtube Keyword tool as that is one of my favorite resources to do some research on hot Youtube searches so you can figure out the best titles and tags to build your videos around that will help your youtube marketing strategy be a smashing success.

This is the youtube keyword tool originally meant to be used with research for Youtube ads but it is good for finding popular keywords to build a youtube marketing strategy on and then use them in the Title and tags of your videos.
 
    Now of course using the youtube keyword tool you can kind of take your youtube marketing strategy up another notch by searching out popular searches in a particular country rather than your default and also searching for keywords in alternative languages if your site is capable of being translated this might come in handy and you might find some gems here with little or no competition.
 
Checking Youtube competition:
 
     OK just like I encourage you to do on Google I am going to recommend another little youtube tip here, and it is that before you actually do a video on this topic or entitle or tag your video with the Keyword(s) you should look and see how much competition there is there on youtube for that Keyword(s) with the same syntax as you would use on Google ( after all Big G owns them both ).
 
Example:
Go to the youtube search box and type in:
allintitle: "Keyword or phrase"
Those results will give you everyone that has a vid with that Title that you will need to compete with on youtube for rankings.
 
    Now by going through this process a few times you can often find much better Keywords and tags to use on your video that will land you more organic searches on youtube and better viewership of your channel and videos. I want to touch on some other uses for this same information that will really help you get more contextual traffic to your channel. Another great use of the data that you just gathered with those Keywords and phrases that you know people are searching for is to find the top resulting videos in those searches and simply subscribe to + friend and comment inside those channels. Most channels will show comments with DoFollow links back to your channel on youtube. So you can use this youtube marketing strategy to build some direct traffic by commenting in those youtube channels that own those top ranked videos. This little youtube tip will help you to reach a very targeted audience of guys interested in whatever niche you are working promoting.
 
Using the instant searches in Youtube:
 
    OK lately just like on the Google search engine Youtube and many other sites are implementing instant searches right there under the search box to give almost instant gratification to guys that are searching. A great use of this data is to find searches that may have little competition and might be a current hot topic on youtube. Some topics are not searched for as often or are simply to new for the Google keyword tool to have accumulated data on, and will result in   " Not enough Data "  results. A good youtube marketing strategy is for you to find out what among these low volume searched keywords are the most popular by starting a search and letting youtube instant search results finish it for you and they will be ranked from the top to the bottom in the order of most popular to least popular searches. This is a good youtube tip to use when you see a Keyword that does not have enough data in the youtube keyword search engine. I can often do a search this way and try to locate the keyword among the top 5 as I type it out and if it is there then it is likely a good title or tag to add into my video. Also these results are much fresher and will help you spot hot new topics much faster.
